Sometimes I Worry

Sometimes I worry that I will write the most perfect thing. The thing that explains it all. The thing that takes all of my experiences, thoughts, feelings, my every waking moment, and distills them into the most concise and perfectly articulated piece of prose ever written. It will be the sum total of my life, the essence of my existence. My one most flawless and lasting mark on the world. My way to say, “look Earth, I was here. I mattered. THIS is what I did”. It will be my supreme contribution to humanity. To the cosmos. I will never again create anything as beautiful or wonderful, nor could I. Upon writing it I will know that my life’s purpose has been achieved and that there is no more use for me here in this life, in this plane of existence. It will be both greater than my heart and deeper than my soul. It will be me, and I will be it.
